The announcement was made after 100,000th Leaf delivery in Japan.

Launch of a new generation Leaf brought Nissan’s electric cars sales back to life in domestic market – recently Nissan confirmed 100,000 Leaf delivered in Japan since the launch of original model. This is a significant part of over 320,000 deliveries in total. Now Nissan confirms to launch 3 more all-electric models in Japan.

To be more precise, Nissan plans to launch 3 new EVs and 5 new e-POWER models (the gas engine works as the electricity generator in such cars) by 2022 in Japanese market. Though it is possible that those vehicles will be a part of a global plan to launch 12 electric cars in next 5 years that had been presented a few weeks ago by Renault, Nissan & Mitsubishi alliance.
