A few days ago Elon Musk replied to Electrek.co about installing solar panels to Superchargers, allowing to gather green and free energy. Though, the reply also contained several unexpected details: Tesla plans massive installation of solar in sunny regions available an off-grid energy distribution, and renovated Superchargers will also utilize Powerpack 2 and Solar Roof recently unveiled. Moreover, new version of Supercharger will be much more powerful, providing over 350 kW output (compared to 145 kW we have today), which can possibly lead to approx. 10 minutes of charging up to 100%. Musk hinted Supercharger v3 to be more powerful than the ultra-fast charging network five major automakers are considering to deploy next year.
