In the middle of January in Detroit Volkswagen unveiled a very interesting concept called I.D. BUZZ. As one may get from its name, a new concept is built on the same platform as the I.D. which became an object of attention to Volkswagen in Paris last fall.
I.D. BUZZ is planned to enter the production stage in 2020 with other new VW’s electric models on MEB platform.
VW promise to offer two modifications of I.D. BUZZ. First one will be equipped with AWD, 369 hp electric motor and massive 111 kWh battery pack allowing it for 270 miles of range. Less expensive one should include rear-wheel drive, 268 hp motor and 83 kWh battery pack. Both versions will be compatible with CCS charging interface and inductive charging.
I.D. BUZZ design is definitely inspired by VW oldschool buses with lots of familiar elements being renovated. Significant attention is paid to the interior – which is very light and roomy thanks to a wheelbase of almost 130 inches (3.3 meters). VW engineers also provided a number of the interior transformations – check the pictures below:

On top of that, VW claims the vehicle to be equipped with a full autonomous driving technology – like its I.D. concept unveiled at the Paris Motor Show earlier.
