Croatian team used Tesla Model X SUV to compete in one of the largest amateur rally in the world – Budapest-Bamako rally. Above all, the rally route lies through the Sahara desert and other places where decent road infrastructure may be nonexistent, not even talking about the charging infrastructure.

The team drove 8600 km in 16 days of rally, however, their run was not completely zero-emission. Since there is a large territory where the electricity does not exist at all, Model X was supported by another vehicle with a gas generator installed to recharge the battery pack. Though, the team used the grid where it was possible – even since sometimes that was hard to be called a good charging solution.
