One of the latest Tesla software upgrades made its vehicles faster only because of the optimized torque management software. We are talking about the 2019.36.x software which was released back to November 8.

Electrek.co collected the official data and Tesla owners’ estimations to create a guide to all Model 3 trims dynamics update. All of those mentions below feature the 0-60 mph acceleration.

Model 3 Performance
When launched, Model 3 Performance was able to make 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds according to the official specs sheet (though some owners were able to show better figures). After the latest update, the official data was changed to 3.2 sec, while it may actually be even quicker – Youtube channel Dragtimes host for instance was able to reach 2.9 on a dragstrip:

Model 3 Long Range AWD
When this Model 3 trim debuted it was told to be able to accelerate 0-60 mph in 4.5 sec. Now official specs suggests the 0.1 sec better result, while one owner was able to make it in 4.16 sec

Model 3 Long Range RWD
Even though the RWD modification of Model 3 Long Range is already discontinued, its owners also benefit from the latest software update. However, the dynamics changed not so rapidly because of only one motor – 4.9 instead of 5.1 sec.

Model 3 Mid-Range
Mid-Range is yet another discontinued Model 3 trim. Although, the latest software update made it much faster: from 5.6 to 4.9 sec!

Model 3 Standard Range and Standard Range Plus
So far there is no evidence from any Model 3 SR or SR+ owner about the dynamics change. Standard Range version is discontinued too, while the Standard Range Plus official specs were not changed (0-60 mph in 5.3 sec).
