The launch of real-world testing of Easy Ride service is scheduled on March 5th.

In the beginning Easy Ride users won’t have much of a choice for the places to go. Actually, via the mobile app it will be possible to order only two routes – from Nissan’s HQ in Yokohama to the Yokohama World Porters trade center and back. Each ride is going to be carefully tracked by the control center, and there will be a human driver behind the wheel of each Nissan Leaf for the case of emergency.

Easy Ride passengers will be provided with a tablet inside the car with information about 500 places of interest nearby, as well as interesting events announcements. Also, each user will be granted discounts and coupons to 40 restaurants and boutiques.

Easy Ride full launch in Japan in scheduled on 2020.
