Alternative energy sources are conquering the motor racing – apart from Formula E, which shows great growth rate during all 3 years of its existence, electric vehicles enter other disciplines. In the beginning of May MotoGP managing team announced that a new class of electric bikes will be included into the championship program in the 2019 season.
2019 will be a debut year for electric class of MotoGP, consisting of 5 races in total. Each race is going to include at least 10 laps with 18 racers taking part on bikes of a single make, capable of reaching top speeds over 200 km/h (125 mph). MotoGP already got several proposals from various motorcycles manufacturers.
Actually, MotoGP managers not only pay significant attention to entertaining part of the championship, but also do not forget about the ecology. For instance, they plan to organize bikes charging via wind turbines and solar panels.
