It seems that almost all heavy trucks manufacturers develop their own projects of electrified trucks. For instance, Dutch company DAF is one of the last to show their all-electric truck.
New DAF CF drivetrain consists of an electric motor with 210 kW output and 170 kWh battery pack. The battery though seems quite small for such a large vehicle (in contrast, Volvo FL Electric may be equipped with 300 kWh pack), but DAF claims their truck is able to travel 100 km (63 miles) on a single charge with a cargo capacity of 40 tons, that should be enough for the majority of urban operations.
DAF equipped the truck with quite fast charger – according to the company release, quick charging takes as short as 30 minutes, while the full charge will take about 1.5 hours.
