BMW sees a great potential in electric vehicles program development – BMW CEO Harald Krüger claims the company’s future to be strongly connected to EVs. Real figures actually reaffirms it.
While reporting the Q1 2017 results BMW reportedly claimed positive dynamics of their ‘electric’ division. For instance, BMW i3 sales grew solid 50% in the period. Electrified BMW models (including plug-in hybrids) in general accounts for over 3% of total sales so far.
Moreover, BMW Group plans to launch several new electric cars in the nearest future. For instance, this summer is the time to unveil MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid, BMW i8 Roadster should enter the market in 2018, in 2019 there will be a turn for the first all-electric MINI, while BMW X3 all-electric SUV is scheduled on 2020.
