The concept of an everyday electric supercar of the nearest future.
New Audi’s concept was unveiled at Pebble Beach last week and became one of the most attention-catching premieres. Generally, becase it is not simply another electric-powered supercar with impressive specs (in this case – 570 kW of power output, scarcely more than 2 sec. of 0-60 mph and 830 Nm of torque), but also an assembly of Audi’s driving experience and performance technologies – including those from Le Mans racing series. All of that promises the unique experience for the driver.
PB18 e-tron actually combines two different cars. Spacious GT coupe transforms into the racing track beast – and this second mode allows to move the driver’s monocoque to the center of the vehicle. Audi claims, that PB18’s driver may experience nearly the same emotions as behind the wheel of an LMP1 racing prototype. Watch how it works:
PB18 is equipped with 3 electric motors – one in the front and two in the rear. The 95 kWh battery pack allows for 500 km (310 miles) of range. Audi also installed Porsche’s 800-volt charging system for ultra-fast energy restoration.
