Ariel Motor Company, known as a lightweight supercars producer and famous for its Atom, recently announced their first electric car with outstanding performance. They claim that all-wheel drive version of HIPERCAR will get 1180 hp and should outperform famous hypercars as McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder.

Project with a codename HIPERCAR features four electric motors on each wheel with a total output of 1180 hp. That drivetrain will get energy from the 56 kWh battery pack. Moreover, some additional juice should be going from a 35 kW micro-turbine generator. All that incredible equipment results an astonishing performance: 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds and 0-150 mph in just 7.8 seconds, that is about 3 seconds faster (!) than a Porsche 918.

Moreover, there would be a cheaper RWD version with two electric motors, 42 kWh battery pack and twice less power – though, it should still be faster than the majority of traditional sportcars. HIPERCAR chassis is going to be unveiled this September, though the final version of the car itself is scheduled on 2019. The final design is still unknown since the renders available are just a fantasy of Ariel design team.
