Taking into account the global rise of electric mobility, large oil companies start to consider necessary adaptation into the new environment. Shell seems to be the most active in this field – for instance, starting to deploy its own chargers network in Britain and the Netherlands.

Additionally, recent reports show that Shell acquired Europe’s largest electric charging network operator NewMotion for an undisclosed amount.

NewMotion operates over 30,000 charging points across Europe with approximately 80,000 EV owners regularly using their service. Noticeable, that NewMotion will continue to operate under its own brand with Shell resources aimed at the further expansion.
