6 out of 10 fastest-selling used cars in USA today are electric – both all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrdids – according to the recent study by iseecars.com.
The top spots belong to Fiat 500e and BMW i3 respectively – those vehicles previously have been coming off with leases, resulting a huge amount of lightly used lease return EVs on the market.
Other electric vehicles in the rank are Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius Plug-in, Ford Fusion Energi and Tesla Model S.
Such market situation turns out to be a consequence of government EV incentives, making even brand-new electric cars quite cheap. While afterwards, incentives still have a long-lasting effect, lowering the price of a used vehicle which had not lose much of its value.
